When I’m emotional, I usually get really quiet because I don’t want to be rude and lash out. What is your perspective? ~Anna
Dear Anna,
I’m so glad that you asked! I’ve held that perspective for many years and I have now discovered how to get comfortable with circumstances that make me uncomfortable. Boundaries don’t help us heal, although they keep us safe from toxicity. What I do, right then, in the moment….I pause.
I sit with that tension. Breath deeply. Respond calmly. Evaluate my wisest response. And then move on.
Allow yourself to return to compassion and let go of whatever you’re tempted to overthink. Everything will work itself out as it should when you’re calm minded. Redirect your mental and emotional energy to what matters most and focus on the positive in all situations.
Remember, ego is just pride & vanity, which can destroy hope in tomorrow. Here’s a checklist to help you remember how powerful you are.
Love,
Gina
