Maca Hormone Balancing Almond Smoothie

Maca is known as “Peruvian ginseng,” although it is nothing like ginseng. It is an antioxidants and amino acids filled, fibrous root that reportedly increases strength, stamina and libido.

Maca is not a caramel delicious treat, but it gives you energy and endurance, so at best, trying to disguise its unique flavor in a smoothie will lessen your taste bud’s surprise.

A comforting smoothie that has a sweet cookie flavor but contains lot's of hormone-balancing nutritional goodness!

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp almond butter

  • 2 tbsp ground flaxseed

  • 1 - 2 tsp maca powder

  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

  • (Optional) 1 tbsp raw protein powder, (I used hemp)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 1/2 cups dairy-free milk

  • Approx 10 ice cubes

  • 2 medjool dates, pitted

Instructions

  1. Simply add everything to a blender and mix until smooth.

  2. Taste and adjust flavors, if necessary.

  3. Serve and enjoy!
